“Did you know that only 1-2% of the 27 MILLION people who are trafficked into sex slavery are EVER rescued out? Of those who do escape on their own, 20-80% are abducted back in? That victims are, at a usual LOW, forced to give their bodies to 40 people PER DAY or otherwise their families are killed and they are severely beaten?? That the average age is 12-14 years old? This is a modern day holocaust. Don’t blow off what’s going on, they need our help.”

Thank you everyone for all your support and prayers! The event was a huge success: we raised over 1500 dollars just from admissions, not including the staff and not including the donations, food, or merchandise that was bought! We are only a couple high school kids…we only were able to do this because of God and all the support around us. It was a huge privilege to be able to work together to make a difference in this way!

Everything is coming together. The event is happening today....

Until a few years ago, Sina was a sex slave in Phnom Penh, Cambodia as well. Incredibly, after escaping the hell of daily serial rape, she chose to go back and confront human traffickers like the one who enslaved her. Sina continues to go back to this underworld nearly every day, often risking her own life, to help women and girls out of sex slavery and into lives of self-sufficency and purpose.

Traffick Jam is happening this friday. I am so excited that we are able to do this event and people are learning about it and human trafficking. I am so excited to be a part of this small step and to see what difference our ripple is going to make when we get to heaven! Keep on praying for this event and most importantly for all the people effected by human trafficking. Thank you everyone for all your support! Every little thing makes a difference.

On both of the two mission trips that I have been on, I have had a connection with children who have been in an abusive home enviroment, and very likely a sexual abusive enviroment.

The first one was in Arizona, on one of the reservations, where there is a very high drinking problem. We had some sweet, highly energetic children. I remember one girl who seemed to be in a daze all the time, and was very scared of boys and unresponsive to anyone else. Unfortunately, we only had one week to spend with her, and we all tried our best to love her and take care of her. I just wish we could’ve make more of an impact in her life and show her there is someone out there who truely does love her.

The second one was in Nome, Alaska. The percentage of children who are abused are 90% before their teenage years. That means that in a room of ten children, it is very likely that only one of them has not been sexually abused. That is…appalling, horrifying…unimaginable. We had a kids club during our time there, and had time to just play and spend time with the kids. They where brilliant and energetic and loved to be tickled and chased. It was a great time, until I went up to this one girl, who was around seven or eight years old and loved being tickled jump on me and the others, but she had a panic attack. She curled up on the floor sobbing and yelling ‘don’t touch me!’ I was horrified, it makes me cry even now. She wasn’t scared of me, she was scared of the rush of memories that were drowning her. One of the guys held her while she cried to calm her, and I went into the hallway. I started crying, just horrified that someone so sweet and innocent could have been hurt in such a way. It was not okay. I got to cry with her and hug her and hold her afterwards, but it definitely changed something in me.

This is why I want to do this. For all the young girls and boys who have been affected in this awful way. For all the adults who still have scars from their childhood, or the adults still in this painful situation. It is not okay. And I cannot, I refuse to stand by and do nothing. For them. Because this is not okay and cannot be allowed to continue.

I will do my best to fight for them in this way, because that is the least I can do.

I remember the first time I heard about the statistics and reality of human trafficking, I was in shock. I was absolutely horrified. I was nauseated. And I wanted to do something so so very badly. My friend came up with this brilliant idea to raise awareness and money to fight against it, and that is what we have been working on. It’s taken a lot of effort from our part to make this event happen, but I know that if it only effects one life, makes one small change, then it would be so very worth it.

It helps give me a perspective on life, on my life and on the lives all over the world. It breaks my heart, and I don’t ever want it to stop breaking my heart. God, help us. Help us to have the privilege of helping someone else.

That’s what I want.
